My beautiful queens!! It's week 2 of our 28-day challenge and I wanted to pop on and answer any questions/give you tips around things you've been struggling with so far in this journey. COMMENT BELOW 👇

AND remember, this is a journey not a sprint! If you missed a day last week, instead of playing "catch up" and feeling behind, I challenge you to hop right back in where you left off and keep going.

I took 2 days off over the weekend from exercise because my body was screaming at me and honestly it was SO needed! We're human beings not human doings, so listen to your body and make this a journey that feels GOOD, is sustainable and loving to your body whatever season you're in.

We're in this together and I'm cheering you on!

xx Cal

Hi my loves! I’ve been getting a lot of questions asking what equipment you need to get started with Pilates…

Here is the equipment and brands I recommend based off order of importance:

#1 Exercise mat - I 10/10 recommend getting a mat that is grippy AND thick to support your knees and back. Quality mats go a long way and my fave brands are Stakt mat (for on the go) and Bala’s play mat

#2 Ankle weights - next I would get ankle weights bc these are super versatile and can be used as hand weights as well. In the workouts on our app, I use 2lb ankle weights from Bala.

I recommend 1-3lb weight range (bala can be pricey and I know there are def good options that are cheaper on Amazon- I’ve heard you can snag bala products at Marshall’s/TJ Max sometimes)

#3 Resistance band - there are 2 types of resistance bands (rubber/plastic or fabric). I’m personally a huge fan of the fabric because it doesn’t roll and pinch your skin. You can get a 3 pack on Amazon for pretty affordable.

#4 Pilates ball - I’m a HUGE fan of the ball because it helps you dig deeper into your muscles and really activate the deepest layer of your core + pelvic floor. If you’re pregnant, I would push pilates ball as the first piece of equipment to buy. For people who arent pregnant but want to challenge their body on an even higher level, def worth getting! I use Bala’s ball which I believe is $30 on Amazon. You can also search “pilates ball” on Amazon and find great options.

#5 Hand weights - depending on your goals here, I recommend getting a light set of hand weights (1-5lb) AND heavy set (5-15lb) for strength X pilates workouts. My heavier ones are from Target and light ones are Bala.

#6 Reformer board - if you’re desiring a workout that feels a lot like studio reformer classes but don’t have a ton of space or huge budget for a reformer, these boards do the trick and are a great investment! I have a bunch of reformer board workouts on the app and plan to film more once postpartum :)

End of the day, all you really need to get started is your amazing beautiful self and a mat!

Every other piece of equipment is a bonus and I def recommend investing in as you master your form with bodyweight and are looking to keep things challenging & spicy as you progress in your pilates journey.

If you want specific links to the pieces I use, comment below! Also, comment which piece of equipment is your favorite & you want more workouts using <3

Have the best weekend ily queens!!!
