Has anyone had success losing weight with Pilates? I’m currently on a long up and down weight loss journey, and long stretches of cardio (mini stepper or walking pad) can get so boring. The workouts I found here are great! It’s excercise I really look forward to. My question is does Pilates aid weight loss at all or is it more for toning up? I would be combining it with cardio as well.

Bailey’s Story 🤍

Before finding Sweaty Studio, Bailey tried running and the gym — but neither felt right. Between caring for her family and balancing life after college, she struggled to find a workout routine that felt sustainable or uplifting.

When she discovered Pilates, she hoped it would be different — but on other platforms, she found herself comparing her body to influencers and feeling more discouraged than inspired.

Then she found Sweaty Studio.

Bailey shared that it finally felt real.

“Sweaty Studio is a breath of fresh air. Callie and McKaleigh are awesome and real. I love working out with them — it feels like I’m working out with my best friends.”

Within two weeks, she noticed her legs getting stronger and her energy improving — but what mattered most was how much better she felt. The confidence, joy, and community shifted everything.

Bailey’s story is a reminder that movement isn’t about perfection — it’s about finding a space that makes you feel strong, supported, and at home in your body.

Take a moment to watch her story below.
And if you’ve found that same joy in your Sweaty Studio journey, I’d love to hear it in the comments. 🤍

Charlie’s Story 🤍

Our Sweaty Queen, Charlie, said something that touched my heart:

“It’s always been very hard for me to work out, but for the first time, it actually feels enjoyable.”

That’s exactly what Sweaty Studio is all about.

She shared that she’s feeling stronger, her health has improved, and — maybe most powerfully — she’s found confidence for the first time in her life.

This story is such a beautiful reminder that movement can do so much more than change your body — it can change how you see yourself.

It’s never too late to feel strong, proud, and at home in your body again.

Charmaine’s Story 🤍

Charmaine was struggling — with her body, her confidence, and the pressure to live up to her “college version” of herself.

She shared that her job was stressful, she avoided mirrors and photos, and she’d started hiding behind baggy clothes because she just didn’t feel like herself anymore.

“I just could not do high-impact workouts anymore… so I had to find another way.”

That’s when she found Pilates — and everything started to shift.

“I didn’t feel like I had to do these insane, high-impact workouts to see results or feel strong. I started to feel confident again, and it made me want to look in the mirror, do my makeup, and wear cute outfits.”

Charmaine said,

“Callie feels like a friend. Sweaty Studio made exercise enjoyable again — something I can actually be consistent with.”

Her story is such a powerful reminder that you don’t need to “push harder” to feel better. You just need something that meets you where you are and reminds you of your worth along the way.

Chloe’s Story 🤍

Chloe was struggling with her body image and confidence. She said she used to doubt herself — until she started showing up consistently.

“Once I stayed consistent, I could see positive results… and the blessings that came with them.”

What I love most about her story is how simple but powerful it is.
She didn’t change overnight — she changed because she kept going.

Sometimes we overthink it. But the truth is, confidence grows every time you show up for yourself — even when it’s hard.

Ellie’s Story 🤍

Ellie was a post-grad college athlete — trying to figure out how to move her body because she wanted to, not because she had to.

After years of training for performance, she was ready to find something that felt uplifting again.

“The encouragement I’ve gotten from Sweaty Studio has built me up and made me realize that I can move my body — and that in itself is a gift.”

That shift from pressure to gratitude changes everything.

When movement stops being something you owe and becomes something you get to do, it turns into freedom.

Can Pilates help with weight loss??

Pilates can def help for weight loss. It's also super important to clarify the difference of weight loss and fat loss. When we begin to train new muscles or start working out for the first time in a while, our muscles can grow which is great!

Muscle weighs more than fat. So if the goal is to lose "weight" for a sport/weigh out of sorts, then cardio only would be the best program. But if your goal is to lose "fat", then combining pilates with cardio is a great way to do that.

A couple pointers, is there is no need to be restrictive in eating or feel guilty for not moving ur body in a day! To lose fat and gain muscle, which helps to get that "toned" look, it's super important to consume as much protein as your ideal bodyweight daily (this is a rough estimate to help u get enough protein to support muscular development).

Calorie deficits paired with a high protein diet help to support muscle growth and fat loss simulatenously. A calorie deficit occurs when calories OUT (exercise) exceeds calories IN (eating/drinking). Now, if ur feeling restrictive or hard on urself, it's important to know that the calorie deficit can be 200 calories, it does NOT mean you have to skip meals, torture yourself, or overexercise to reach a 1,500 calorie deficit...

With that being said, most people over-estimate calories out and under-estimate calories in. It's important to approach this intuitively and not get obsessive. Weighing yourself daily is NOT going to tell you the full story. Like i mentioned above, you can workout, lose fat, and weigh more (since ur new muscle outweighs the fat weight lost).

If you're still hungry even after you thought you met your general food needs, try to increase your protein intake (that helps curb appetite/constant carb cravings).

P.S. YOU ARE IN THIS FOR THE LONG GAME. We are talking WEEKS + MONTHS ladies, not DAYS. This is a MARATHON, NOT a sprint. I've wrecked my bod before trying to lose fat fast. In addition to the physical pain of doing so, my self-talk and mindset were not healthy or kind to myself. It's so so so important to be KIND to yourself on this journey. You are beautiful already!!! Let me know below if u have any more questions!!

Good Morning everyone!! I completed my first workout today as part of the 21-day challenge! I'm a former competitive figure skater, so working out and fitness as always been a huge part of my life. I tended to focus on strength and HIIT workouts but over the last few years have shifted towards lower intensity workouts that don't aggravate old skating injuries. A friend recommended pilates years ago, but I could never afford the prices of the studios in my area so I kept pushing it off. I found Sweaty Studio and Callie on instagram a few weeks ago and fell in love with her vibe and energy! I am so excited to be a part of this community✨
